नई दिल्ली। सोशल मीडिया प्लेटफॉर्म ट्विटर ने भारत में ऐसे करीब 50 ट्वीट्स पर रोक लगा दी है, जिनमें कोविड-19 महामारी की स्थिति को संभालने में भारत सरकार के तौर-तरीकों की आलोचना की गई थी। ल्यूमेन डेटाबेस पर उपलब्ध डेटा से पता चला है कि माइक्रो-ब्लॉगिंग प्लेटफॉर्म ने ऐसे 50 से अधिक ट्वीट्स को हटा दिया है। ल्यूमेन डाटाबेस के अनुसार, भारत सरकार के आग्रह पर ट्विटर ने कम से कम 50 ट्वीट हटाए हैं। इन ट्वीट्स में सांसद, विधायक और फिल्म प्रोड्यूसर के ट्वीट भी शामिल हैं।
हटाए गए ट्वीट्स में तेलंगाना के सांसद रेवंत रेड्डी, पश्चिम बंगाल के मंत्री मोलॉय घटक, दो फिल्म प्रोड्यूसर्स के ट्वीट भी शामिल हैं।
सबसे पहले मीडियानामा द्वारा इसकी रिपोर्ट की गई कि सरकार ने इन ट्वीट्स को हटाने के लिए ट्विटर को एक आपातकालीन आदेश भेजा है।
ट्विटर के एक प्रवक्ता ने कहा है कि जब एक उचित कानूनी आग्रह मिलता है तो हमारी टीम संबंधित पोस्ट की ट्विटर नियमों और स्थानीय कानूनों, दोनों के हिसाब से समीक्षा करती है।
कंपनी का कहना है कि अगर कंटेंट से ट्विटर के नियमों का उल्लंघन होता है तो उसे हटा दिया जाता है। लेकिन अगर कंटेंट खास न्यायाधिकार के हिसाब से गैरकानूनी होता है, लेकिन ट्विटर के नियमों के खिलाफ नहीं होता तो हम उस कंटेंट को केवल भारत में दिखाई देने से रोक देते हैं।
भारत में कोरोनावायरस की दूसरी लहर अपने चरम पर है। यहां लगातार पांचवें दिन प्रतिदिन 2,000 से अधिक मौतें दर्ज हुई हैं। भारत में पिछले 24 घंटों में 3.49 लाख नए कोरोना मामले दर्ज किए गए हैं, जबकि 2,760 लोगों ने अपनी जान गंवा दी है।
इससे पहले भी भारत सरकार ने इसके नियमों के उल्लंघन के लिए ट्विटर को कुछ पोस्ट हटाने के निर्देश दिए थे। ट्विटर ने शुरूआत में इस पर गौर नहीं किया था, मगर बाद में कुछ पोस्ट पर कार्रवाई की गई थी।
